Well, that's a certain reading of the Clintons' motivation. And that might be right. But there is another reading and that's the one that retains your bit of their ambition but sees it taking a bit different form. It sees her as assuming that she wishes to have a future within the Dem party, she has to back off, concede gracefully, campaign for Obama, and then wait to see what happens. I think that last set of futures is the more likely. At least for the next hour!!
