Most Republicans aren't fascists but the ruling elite of the party most certainly is. Most Republicans have been had and are being had. Reagan was the beginning of the modern right wing movement, such as it is, that has (so far) culminated in the fiasco that is Bush. We have been in serious decline ever since with a brief respite under Clinton. We didn't need these last three (nearly four) decades. Look at where we are today because of them. Reagan's entire ethos was incorrect and very damaging to this country. We may never recover.
