When edwards left the race and he had hillary in his sights for a quick victory, he moved to the left in tone and content. Prior to that when all three were running, I viewed him as to the right of both of them. I think he needs to attract both reagan democrats and independents out there. He has to restate his patriotism which he did brilliantly last night and moderate some of the positions/statements of the past few months. Like when he said, he might go to 28% cap gains tax even if it proved to reduce revenue. He corrected that quickly. Those are the type of things i am talking about. Actually one can make the case, he beat hillary in IN because he took the conservatve position of not pandering on the gas tax issue. Thats what you have to do to get independents and even the reagan democrats can do enough math to figure out that the gas tax holiday was worth 30 cents per day.
