That is going to have a real impact on people's buying decisions for both houses (location) and cars.

Trouble is, this has happened before. We saw the same thing during the last gas crisis. That was in the days before SUV's. But then the crisis was over and people reverted to their old gas guzzling ways. We even had government incentives to buy "trucks," for heaven's sake. Plus ca change...

I think you'll also be happy to read this...SUV trade in values have fallen drastically with some dealers no longer even accepting them.

Ouch. Thanks for the post. We're driving a 5 year old SUV, a Toyota Highlander, and are just getting ready to trade it in.

Running out the door, even as I type, headed to the dealer. ;-)
