Those bargains are due to car manufacturers having excess capacity of those models. They are basically taking a hit on margins to subsidize the cars to a level where they might make sense to buy.

Yes, and we all have to decide whether to take advantage of that window--and help the system find its balance in the process, of course.

(I wonder if each car comes with a flag pin... <g>)
