And my God, the food is SO much better now! I remember driving across the country with my parents in the late 60's- absolutely disgusting food. Now you find all sorts of ethnic restaurants every where you go- if your tastes run to something more elaborate than meat, potatoes, macaroni and biscuits with gravy, that's a Good Thing.

He said you could walk for blocks and not hear a person speak English. Depends how one looks at life I suppose.

I think it depends on how you define "diversity." I live in such a place and I love the color and texture of it. But I don't think it's smart for us to offer alternate court systems with Sharia law, for example, nor do I think it makes any sense to accommodate cabbies who won't carry passengers who are transporting liquor.
