There is truth in many generalizations. It is only when you get into details that you get into trouble.

It is like when you say that the casino (house) always wins, but the loser can always remember all the times he walked away a winner.

That is not a great example to support your O'Rourke's "advice" conundrum, but I hope you get the drift.

Even Bill Maher finds O'Rourke funny and has him on his show frequently.
