In every environment I have worked or interacted for any period of time, inevitably emerges the uber cynical negative snarly character...you know the one for which every initiative sucks, won't work, it's stupid and a waste of time? The one who has nothing to offer but complaints.

I know but how did so many of the cynical bastards find this thread?

If it were up to them we would still live in caves; no progress at all.

The one who has nothing to offer but complaints.

And there are some number of people who believe, "If it works, don't fix it."

I am in the latter group -- and it is a lesson I've learned from a lot of years of experience.

There are people who have their motivations for fixing problems that don't exist -- and politicians are key amongst them -- which is the reason we have a US Code that is so bloated it is bringing our nation to its knees.

We don't need Al Gore to control the amount of water used when a toilet flushes. Never did, never will. And when you get a nitwit like Gore meddling with things, you end up with the absolute nightmare that IS the low-flush toilet.

As to your own situation, I would say it is highly likely you are lying.
