I was baffled when I saw that story, too. I don't see the problem.

A lot of people share their lives with pets. Why should anyone be bothered by the fact that animals are being cremated near a place where they also cremate humans?

I suppose I could understand people objecting if the same furnace was used for both animals and humans, because some mixing of remains would then be inevitable, just as mixing of different human remains does happen in crematoriums.

In this case, though, where's the beef?
