Horses are magnificent creatures. They have been beasts of burden, provided transportation, carried men into battle, offered companionship, and even modern transportation itself is defined in Horse Power.

The horse has been prized like few animals for their contributions and service. Their value has been unquestioned and the death penalty for those who have stolen these noble servants has not been uncommon.

I've become more acquainted in recent days with racing and the concerns and regulations in place to preserve and protect the best of our equine friends. The Jockey Club has my respect and I am confident they will continue and improve their good service.
