"We're just supposed to sit idly by and watch people die."

Why doesn't S. Korea go in? They're a lot closer.

No one's preventing YOU from taking some vacation days, flying over there and pitching in Ten. Might cut down on the European skiing though, right? Jimmy Carter does stuff like that all the time. You could really strut your Christianity in church when you came back!

Remember, we're not allowed to do anything. Myanmar has no oil and no terrorists, and we can't be Globocop. We're just supposed to sit idly by and watch people die.

People die needlessly on this planet every day including the US. Why suddenly now is your heart moved?

Keep in mind they do have a 500k man army and there is no assurance that wont shoot at the folks who come to help the people. My point is more about how political left and right are in determing where we should fight. How do we know that ruanda wouldnt have been a quagmire for example.
