You should move. Australia is right next door. Wait, aborigines for Maoris, the same Asian immigrants, and a labor government to boot. Better stay.

Re: India namely red tape, socialism, bureaucracy, government edict and regulatory fiat they won't get far.

That is an amazingly true description of India. All the recent progress out there was because of the private sector. The government has been but a bewildered bystander.

Infrastructure is barely holding up, traffic is at a standstill, and RE prices are sky high. Combine all this with an exploding middle class, which just recently started getting a taste of the western 'good' life. Bleary-eyed, upside-down 'globalization' employees drunk with Bollywood & cricket.

The news is full of glowing reports of a new superpower. Try buying a pair of good running shoes in India: Original or one of the 3 duplicates, all from the same shopkeeper :-)

India attracts & repels with intensity!

Maurice, Thanks for the reality check on NZ as well. That type of commentary takes a lot of character, very rare in today's world (it is all about image).
