We just elected Labor here after 11 years of the Liberal Party... so not everyone is in synch...

After she has gone, hopefully later this year if not sooner, there will be not much change. The NZ public loves Big Government, bludging, and socialism, so they'll insist on more of the same. The National government won't make significant changes.

Given the incipient economic crunch, it's likely that National will be a single term government. When things go belly up, the government in power at the time has a hard time of it. Labour has blown the huge cash flow on stupid things. Now that things are turning bad, the cupboard is bare.
