VANCOUVER, May 12 /CNW/ - (TSX.V: SEM) Rolly Trenaman, President, reports the Company has focused its energies during the past four months on the search for additional high quality mining assets, which will augment its flagship Moyie silver/lead/zinc project in British Columbia.

Trenaman reports that in this search the Company is targeting precious metals projects with near term production with minimal capital cost requirements and has developed some criteria to guide this search. The projects should be in jurisdictions favoring mine development, should possess metallurgical characteristics such as to minimize potential environmental and permitting difficulties, and finally, the projects should be close to existing infrastructure including smelters such that transportation costs of concentrates are minimized in this era of escalating fuel costs.

Says Trenaman, "The Company has targeted a number of projects that meet these criteria and, we are at an advanced stage of negotiations involving a Canadian project with two properties."

With regard to the Moyie Project, the Company is proceeding with applications to carry out underground test mining development of the Vent target and Society Girl target mineralization, and additional diamond drilling will be undertaken to follow up on silver/lead/zinc intersections encountered in two holes completed on the North Zone target in 2007.
