extirpate the oil from the production of ethanol. Then move into the mass market as Diesel replacement.

Large amounts of petroleum are used to produce the fertilizers for growing sugar cane, approaching 40% of the total cost of growing the crop in Brazil.

It's like planting oil and harvesting ethanol.
