It is much healthier to have this discussion now rather than later. Race is an issue. It is not going away. Race as an issue is much different from using race to get elected. I don't think there is any doubt Clinton is doing this. The not-so-subliminal message of her campaign, at least now, is white working class ethnic voters will not vote for a black candidate. So give me the nomination. Pretty disturbing message to me. Particularly, since a close examination of the primaries suggests that argument is a weak one. At best. Tell me that Andrew Sullivan does not suffer from extreme Hillary hatred. And, you are so willing to link to his opinions on Hillary. I have no idea whether he suffers from such or not. I do know his essays are very interesting reading. And, as a convinced and adamant Thatcher conservative, he's a most unlikely Obama supporter. Nevertheless, we have no alternative. We have to trust the elite community to be fair and honest. I'm lost on this one, Mary. I don't know, specifically, what are who you have in mind.
