What you have failed to grasp is that things were in balance before. If you spend 105% of your income each year, and eventually default, it does not suffice to say that 95% of your spending was covered by what you earned, therefore we should ignore the extra 5%, it being small in comparison. It was the extra 5% that killed you.

Now you certainly can consider which 5% you want to trim and if you can trim it, and what effect that would have.

But it is morons who run around pointing out that the global carbon cycle is about 94% natural and humans have only added an additional 6%, therefore this should not be a problem, because the 6% is small compared to the 94%. BTW, the same morons make the same mistake (actually worse) regarding GHG and H2O vs Co2.
