I'm probably "pretty much" on the "same track" as you.

Everything in "reasonable moderation". I worked in a steel mill in the early 70's. The same one that the "Chief Justice of the Supreme Court" worked at. He and I may have shot the breeze a few times for all I know.

The Union there was RIDICULOUS. There was a guy "on heroin" and he fell asleep a lot. (I guess that's a common side affect). They fired him, but then they had to re-hire him because his addiction was a medical condition or whatever.

It was CRAZY and I knew the pendulum had swung WAY TOO FAR on Union Influence. But I was ALSO aware of what working conditions had been like early in the 20th century and I would have HATED to have been working in that industry at THAT time.

There are 8 year olds working in mines in China right now and there are kids even younger working in textiles in India.

Workers NEED protection, but there has to be a BALANCE.
