Bush 41 was operating pursuant to a specific UN mandate, and this is precisely what we were discussing before. I remember the debate. When did the UN start becoming important to the right anyway? There is no way in hell Bush 41 could have moved forward to unseat Saddam; the Left would have driven him from office (and the Right, too, I suspect). The mistake, of course, was operating under a UN mandate to begin with, effectively limiting our own options. Right...we should have got into this mess 17 years ago... Al
