Greenie undoubtedly favored bubbles because the assumptions were that a) Wall Street hucksters were the smartest guys in the room and b) they'd transfer the stinking mess to foreigners before it popped. And voila, the rest of the world will have transferred much wealth to the US!

Alas, the scams unraveled before the dumping of toxic financial waste was complete. And another unexpected development (to the Greenies of the world): much of that waste was transferred to Americans, too, sinking retirement plans, corporations, and so on.

At least they had a Plan B: foist it onto US taxpayers. This plan is still in it's infancy, and potentially could see huge final wealth transfer from the middle class the wealthy have been hoping and praying for.
