If our involvement in the ME is not about oil or Israel, then what's it about? I believe I have maintained from day one that our involvement was to some extent about oil. It is also about WMD. But the driving force for everything happening in the ME today is a barbaric extreme interpretation of Islam. Before there was a "barbaric extreme interpretation".......are you sure you're not a 13 year old tweenie?.........there was an American presence in the ME going back all the way to the 1950s. I think its very clear why we consider the ME strategic and its not because we are afraid of the radical Arabs. That's what your leaders tell you all in order to scare you into submission. Sadly, it works.......time after time after time.
