Correction. Legalizing illegals - one idea. Housing ownership based permanent residency - another idea.

Hey. It may sound silly. But sillier things are happening out there. Foreigners have been keeping the housing market alive by buying the securities of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Foreigners are keeping the banks alive by buying their shares. The Fed is putting all it has got to rescue investment banks. The congress is suggesting one stupid rescue package after another.

Is it really fantasy? US already has a similar investment based idea on its books (investment based permanent residency):
