"I would be sure they saw the Minuteman sign as a hate symbol no different than a Confederate flag."

The sign was a normal Adopt a Highway sign sponsored by the minutemen, issued and installed by the government in California.

The illegals definitely see the Miniteman organization as an obstacle that confronts their illegal entrance to the USA and attempts to stop this illegal activity. The minutemen see them selves that way as well. The Latino pressure made it clear that they were speaking for this group. The government said it acted in fear of conflicts which could arise over this issue.

Waving a Mexican flag in an Idaho PE class has the potential of inciting conflict among the students under the exact same issue. The teacher said this was the basis of his actions.

"Do you think they would have done the job without the sign?....I don't."

What, clean the Highway? You do understand the Adopt the Highway organization don't you. A group agrees to keep a section of road clean that is assigned by the government. The government assigned that section of road, it could have been anywhere in California, the minutemen didn't pick that section to harrass illegals ... that's just you're irational victim stuff leaking out.
