Huh?? I couldn't help but notice the chart said "per unit of GDP". Would it be possible that China GDP acutally grow during the period and hence the overall usage go up? Are we using the taste of orange to argue that apple actually taste bad?

Your chart shows China's energy usage per unit of GDP increasing approx 15% from 2001 to 2005 from below 7 MBTU per $ to about 8. Has it leveled off at 8 in the last three years? If so, Chinese energy usage has MORE than doubled since 2001 since Chinese GDP has doubled since 2001.
