Honestly, I won't be surprised if this campaign turns out to be uglier than ever.

They're both going to be hiding behind the "Oh, it isn't US doing it, we can't control the ads these groups run, but we'd like them to stop (wink)". One can envision it spinning out of control.

I've never quite gotten over the racism the Dems used in their efforts beat Bush in '02 -- and for that matter, I'm totally disgusted that Lieberman wouldn't repudiate it.

When the Dems pull out the race card this could get ugly.

This is tough for me. The Clinton/McAuliffe/Carville/Begala political machine is as sleezy as you can get. But Obama could be hugely destructive for the country, particularly as it pertains to the war on terror and Supreme Court appointments.

McCain would not be my choice, but between him and either of these other two it is a no-brainer. Honestly, I think America missed the boat when Huckabee was beaten.
