carrot??? lure????

"Our Lord gave us the answer 2000 years ago. In all sincerity it is the only solution.

Luk 10:27 "And answering, he said, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."

James"

Agreed.

But remember, Jesus didn't use the force of government nor any of his power to FORCE anyone to believe and follow. Free Will, faith and the promise of eternal life were the carrot luring the believers.

He also said, "Show Me a coin. Whose image and inscription does it have? They answered and said, Caesar's.
And He said to them, Therefore render to Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's." Luk 20:24

Although we cannot completely divorce ourselves from the world we must live as though this world is not our home but instead Heaven. We are aiming at perfection but in this life we shall never attain true perfection. But it does make for the freedom from others (and our animal nature) that you speak of.

I did not want to preach but wanted to bring a point to the thread. That we can either get caught up in the madness of our human nature or try to find the joy and peace that Jesus spoke of.

James
