The 200 mile limit only applies to the American coastline, not to any other country's.

They're doing the same thing in trying to claim most of the Arctic - unless, of course, there is no oil to be found there.

LOL... and they are moving to protect polar bears.. 2/3 of which reside in Canadian territory... so I wonder if the Northwest passage will be 'protected' in the interest of the polar bear population ;o)
