Don't forget WHY this came about. During the depression, crime skyrocketed and the "Haves" were paying to clean up the mess anyway. SS was invented to even it out in an orderly manner. Same concept that we don't all pay individually for trash pick up. If we did, you'd have neighbors that would just leave the stuff in the yard! Do we want that? Dude. It's called being part of a society. Heck, might as well build a cabin out in the boonies, cut off all communication and stuff your money under the mattress. Spend it however you want! Are those Brown Bears two for a buck?
