My reply is that if someone has no respect for Americans or the country, they are free to leave.

I did not refer to Americans. They have the absolute right to their opinion. However, those who aren't Americans need not worry about how America disgusts them. They may simply leave.

The context of my message was simply good manners. I would never go to France/anyplace and tell those people how bad their country is. It is not my place, it is their home.

If I didn't like the country I traveled to, I would leave.

If you go into a bar in the Bronx and badmouth the Yankees, what is the purpose, except suicide? The same with Queens and the Mets. Common sense is the rule. The world doesn't owe you protection from your own stupidity.
