My morning paper reminded me of the Libertarian Convention which will convene here in Denver starting next week. For the first time - ever - I'm somewhat interested in what they have to say. I just can't see wasting my vote there, but the more I see and hear from McCain, the more painful it will be to vote for him.

Today's IBD has a wonderful cartoon called "The McCain Mutiny". It shows a boat called the USS McCain with a bunch of elephants diving overboard. Wish I knew how to post it here.

The problem isn't that our energy policy is bad, the problem is we HAVE an energy policy, as if bureaucrats can manage supply and demand better than free markets.

The best energy policy is hands off the energy market. This point of view is not to be found ANYWHERE in today's national debate. There is no advocate for free markets on the national stage today.

The whole premise of this election is that we are looking for the best person to "run" the country. The premise is not only flawed, it is deadly.
