I just listened to about the last 15 minutes of a speech McCain gave this morning in Columbus, OH. It was the usual, "I'll be a president for all the people." kind of stuff. What really struck me, loud and clear, was how absolutely unenthusiastic the occasional applause was. Even at the end of the speech, I didn't get a hint of him walking off to a standing ovation. Republicans are in trouble...

Well stated.

No one is talking about what the proper role of the government should be.

It's always more regulations and mandates nationally with subsidies and billion dollar programs for unproven projects.

The answer now of the Democrat Candidates and Congress is to tax those windfall profits. The answer should be to allow those companies to keep those profits and plow those windfall profits right back into the work that they are already doing.

I heard an interview with one of the CEO's of a major oil company----------he was impressive, he understood that building a democratic society depends upon having the basic energy to sustain a society. (If I find a link to a transcript will post.)
