I agree with you John. The wingnuts will whine about WHAT gets the money that is spent, of course. If it's not completely wasted in dumbass wars and ridiculous "defense", it's wrong.

Obama won't get out of Iraq immediately, but he might put forth a timetable for withdrawal. The rest of his cuts in military spending won't come until a year or two into his term, I think.

As for spending increases, yeah, I guess the Dems will need more than just 100 days to architect their new spending programs, starting with universal health care. But there are some things they can spend on immediately, such as whatever alternative energy and global warming prevention programs they can dream of.
