This let's them off that hook, but do you think they'll survive? Despite the big losses this looks to me better than I would have thought but what I think doesn't count for much :)

That came too late for me. I lost 60% on my May 10$ puts and dumped them for a loss early in the week of expiration. Seeing it drop like that today also fails to let me roll to a later date on very favorable prices.

I also had to dump COF at a loss, but the last week really enhanced the position. It had erased the profits on the year at one point, but got very near to breakeven itself so still have profits intact! That was a close call for sure.
