Pretty much the party platform.

I am not saying they were wrong about the Soviets, but there are times when the enemy of my enemy is my enemy also.

On a more serious note, after the betrayal by the appeasers (Chamberlain, and the one even more guilty - French Daladier), much of Europe had to chose between 2 evils (Nazis and Bolsheviks), and Nazis seemed like the lesser of 2 evils to many.

It didn't matter who they chose. Europe was not prepared to go to war with either the Nazis or the Bolsheviks.
