It looks like Citron and Andrew Left's short attack yesterday had little effect on EMKR's price. This is Citron's 4th attack article on Emcore, and each one is having less of a downside effect. Mr. Left is starting to sound like the boy who cried wolf. I read his reports, and they are full of rumor and innuendo about the people he is attacking, and short on substance. He could have covered below $6 after his second attack. I'm surprised he's stll short at $8+?!?

I think there are companies that are worthy of shorting because of hyped up stock prices, but I don't see Emcore as a good short candidate, at least not now. Emcore is poised to report their first quarterly profit in a long time next quarter, and projected to be profitable afterwards for 2009. Also, they have the solar IPO in the works, and are just starting to get recoginzed as a solar company. Look at the solar stocks roar as oil and other energy commodities make daily highs. Retail electricity in the U.S. is moving closer to the cost of solar power every month. Solar is just getting started, and so is Emcore.

Shining Light on EMCORE

by: Unenergy posted on: May 29, 2008

Let me ask you a question: When you think of Boeing (BA), General Electric (GE), Intel (INTC) and NASA, as an American how do you feel? These three companies have provided Americans with the means for long distance travel for business and to see loved ones, great jobs, financial security, innovative computing, electrical and health products; in fact, you could credit these companies with making great contributions to improving your quality of life. And in the case of NASA, inspiration for all Americans and pride in their country at what their countrymen can achieve.

Now what if I told you they may have been working towards something in common, so exciting that the way the world generates electricity from the sun need not be the same ever again?

I’d like to introduce a new name to you: Emcore (EMKR) Corporation of Albequerque, New Mexico. What is it that is so special about the great American organizations above and Emcore, and what do they have in common?

The answer – CPV or Concentrated PhotoVoltaics solar systems.

On April 15 2008 GE purchased 230,020 shares in Emcore. And on 30 April 2008 tripled their holding to 690,060.

Nice article on our favorite stock. I think EMKR will trade much higher later this year. Perhaps GE is positioning themselves to buy out Emcore.
