I think it's very plausible. But the sheer vagueness of it left it open to interpretations of all sorts. A gift to the Dems. And he did make it plural. It was just the wrong place and time. A celebratory function, when he represented all of the country, united, as the President in his official role, offering continued support for Israel, was just no time to talk about divisiveness or differing opinions within our own house. And equating people who hold those opinions as being "delusional" and using the always provocative Hitler trigger... And is it nice to call an ex-President delusional like that?
