I thought I was the only one who saw the obvious racist overtones in this ordeal. It is racist, IMO, to propose legislation that makes it a bigger crime to kill a black man than to kill a white man. And it was racist to present an obviously non-racist even as though it WAS a racist event. And it was racist to use this incident in a political campaign. And it was downright abusive to draw James Byrd's daughter into the political campaign to make the advertisement.

The Dems are guilty of racism on multiple levels with respect to the James Byrd ordeal.

Even though I like Lieberman far more today than I did before he bolted, I can never respect the man for refusing to call for and end to this racism on national television.
