"I could never understand why people spend idling their vehicles in a line ".

How about the pedestrians, with God given right to walk
slowly, very slowly without looking at the traffic, vehicles
being held up, everywhere in USA.

Can they walk in normal pace ? I almost walk faster at the
crossing and let them go first until there is more than me.

Last time I checked (Thursday), the difference was .12, so $1.80 savings for me. It seems to always be about .10 to .15 difference, but as gas prices rise, the savings relative to the OVERALL cost is diminishing.

And the last couple Costco trips I have taken there have been no lines, but I have seen plenty of them.

This bigger question is people who drive many miles out of their way to go to Costco for gas. That's dumb. I only go if I'm nearby or shopping at Costco.
