True! They're going to need more steel, cement, and copper to reinforce their building codes all over the country.

The fact that the Chinese premier put in an appearance at the epi-center is an important indicator of how they view this from the top. I'm sure some executions will follow and I'm not talking about rebuilding.

The last time they had a catastrophe of some sort a few years back I recall Condi Rice who was there attending a meeting offering the premier her sympathies. According to journalists then on the spot, the premier hadn't even heard of it?

Aside: We just broke a record for us - 105 deg. on May 16th where I live. I'm inclined to believe in global warming and the continued use of energy for Air Conditioning. The big PG&E utility offered $25 last month to permit them to take our A.C. units off line for 4 hours daily at their discretion during the months of June through September. I allowed them to put a monitor on my heat pump. The check arrived today.
