Dave, most of our basic science and new discoveries come out of university science departments. If these are forced to do work with an immediate bottom-line payoff for corporations, our country will lose it's premiere place in basic science and the world will be poorer for it. There's plenty of time for our students to do great work for corporations AFTER school.

Liberals believe the govt is the source of all that is good, ignoring the fact that it's the govt that is the source of a lot of our problems today.

How bright is it to rely upon the same group of people that created the problem, to resolve the problem?
