At the risk of being boringly repetitive, my college roomie is a an analytical chemist with her PhD from MIT where she's still a visiting prof. She's done a lot of work in the environmental area, and teaches a course on GW. She thinks Gore is an alarmist charlatan, that the increasing level of CO2 molecules is not that dramatic (she gave me a lecture I didn't understand). She said we have lost track of the long nature of cycles and the variances that occur naturally. She isn't saying GW doesn't exist, more that the Gore reaction is way overblown. Her CV is impressive "Kathleen C. Swallow" if anyone cares, so I will take my cue from her. When she gets alarmed, I will.

<<<Do I believe that C02 causes global warming, yes, probably. (And I use the term probably in the scientific and mathematical context of "most likely".)

But, can I ever be certain? No. Not based on current science. Do I see an argument for not spending billions, on speculation? Yes. Do I agree with that position? No.

But that, as I said, politics. Not science. >>>

I basically agree with your conclusion, but I disagree with the way you frame it.

Your conclusion is that you think we should take some action with respect to remedy of global warming impact. You are just not sure exactly how much we should do.

The people I have a problem with are those that claim we do not have a problem and that nothing should be done. There are also those that just muddy the water with a mixture of ideology and personal confusion.
