Look, I was a skeptic on this stuff last year too. Sam, that sentence and much of what you post to me on the subject suggests that you mistakenly think I'm a skeptic. That illustrates to me how "immersed" you are in it. True believers lose the ability to differentiate anything short of all vs nothing. Any disparaging word is blasphemy. If they haven't drunk the Kool-Aid, they must be agin' me. To say that some of it is quackery and some of it not, as I did, does not make one a skeptic. Try rational non-skeptic. Or a heretic non-skeptic, as I just picked up Lomborg's "Cool It" at the library the other day. Haven't read it yet, but the second paragraph of the preface starts with "That humanity has caused a substantial rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide over the past centuries, thereby contributing to global warming, is beyond debate. Duh.
