Sen. Obama says that Iran is not a threat and suggests we might have common interests with a nation that is developing a nuclear weapon to wipe Israel off the map.

That is a common interest, for him and Iran.

We talked to China when they were a major force behind the North Vietnamese and extremely isolated from the world.

Not talking to our enemies is just based on more of the same paranoia that governs the conservative world view. You know the view that said Saddam was an immediate imminent danger to the USA. As I recall that resulted in a war of some sort that I think cost trillions of $$$$ and thousands upon thousands dead and maimed.

McCain is actually trying to say Iran is as dangerous as the old Soviet Union. Bush is comparing Iran to Nazi Germany. Its all very paranoid. The Nazi's probably had the most powerful war machine of its time in 1939. The Soviets had/have very functioning intercontinental ballistic missiles equipped with Hydrogen bombs. It was fair to take those threats as very serious.

What do the Iranians have? I've seen guys at the lake with more awesome speed boats than those jokes buzzing the the missile destroyer in the gulf. I mean really.

To my view Iran is more of an Israeli problem and they can take care of themselves.

The thing is all this paranoia about Iran sounds more like Iraq than Nazi Germany.
