Lose and loose makes little sense.

When you consider choose and chose. Noose and nose. Goose and Moose.

But one of the beauties of English is it makes so little sense.

My pet word peeve is using less for numbers and never using the word fewer... Fewer is for numbers and less is for volume.

AND the TV and radio people who say continually I want FOR YOU to .......

In 8th grade English I gave a speech that was our assignment to persuade the class to contribute to something. My best friend's mother had just passed and I gave a speech imploring contributions to be made to Cancer research. I did well until I said, Now I want for you to contribute................That was it. Imperfect English and I didn't get my A.
