Personalities emerge from circumstance. This generation of world leaders has emerged from what we created. We created a world in which the difference in good and evil is not based in principles of decency vs human corruption. Evil is attached to a political group or a geopolitical region that opposes your group which claims moral certainty. Our politicians must at all cost be willing to claim they are pure, able to protect us, take care of us, fix things for us ... even if they have to invent threats, needs, and damages to make such claims. It is no wonder we can't take any of them serious. It's such an unrealistic expectation, we are practically begging for deceitful con artists to step up on election days. There are no pure geopolitical regions of the world or groups. We all have histories which are loaded with regrettable particulars and all have something good to offer. I don't want to be protected, cared for, or fixed by politicians. I'd be happy to vote for one who is simply willing to represent me honestly on the platform of issues and if that politician were open minded enough to cooperate with others who have good and useful ideas.
