I never went down that road. I was actually a very simple hippie:

There were a lot of crazy people in the hippie movement and most people could not seperate the wheat from the chafe.

What confused the straight world was that their were two populations. One population had learning, empathy and freedom of expression as their guide, while the other was more into the hedonism.

And of course when all of a sudden zillions of people are experimenting with all sorts of ideas and creativity anything can be created it seems.

And there was a lot of experimentation as it was the first time in history a large group of people had freedom of expression. It seems we have settled back down a bit now since the novelty has worn off i.e. everyone has a tattoo and ring through their nose today-lol. In the 60's hair below the ears was shocking to the straight world - lol.

The straight world had no idea what was going on then; and still don't-lol.

I mostly just read, and listened to music, smoked a little weed and played poker. I did not grow my hair long or wear beads. I looked like a normal person.

But my life became concentrated on learning and helping other people.

I think that is a good philosophy.
