Volker is too old to serve as Fed chairman IMHO.

But the faster Bernanke is moved out the better.

Perhaps to be replaced by a "Volker light" type.

There is a rumor that Obama would replace Bennie with Paul Volker. Even if the probability is remote it is more than enough reason to vote for Obama. If it comes to it the President could publicly ask for the Fed chairman to resign. I doubt he could refuse.

Fed chairman appointed for four years. Term ends Feb 1, 2010.
