It's a regional story. Famous to those of us interested in Western History.

The story played out in a certain way, owing to the determination of one man. I am keenly interested in this story, for reasons that I do not care to disclose right now. I thought it would be interesting to find out how people thought it COULD turn out, and compare that to how it actually did turn out.

There is no trick question aspect to the story, except that it is a bit of an exploratory game on my part. I just want to find out how people would solve the problem posed by the scenario I described.

chooseanother posted a story in response that has some similarities. Check her story out too. As a coincidence, I was watching a program last night on the History Channel that profiled the "Hillbillies" -- no offense intended, that's what they called the program -- and her story was one of the vignettes covered.
