They are dumping their carcasses in parks around here so they don't have to pay fees for proper burial.

The thing about horses is they keep on eating even if you don't ride 'em. Even the worst gashog doesn't do that.

Speaking of unintended consequences, keep your eye on the local horse population. People are bailing out the pleasure equine business at an alarming rate. I had two people try to give me horses last week. We would be covered up in "free horses" if word got out that I was fool enough to take them.

What's happening with horses is a real tragedy. One of my employees is "horse affiliated" and she was telling me people [not her] are just abandoning horses. Trailering them in the middle of the night and turning them loose in someone else's pasture.

Just listened to a talk on the radio of the unintended consequences of banning the slaughter of horses. Seems now with feed prices and such the way they are the horses are being turned loose on federal lands out west with no chance of survival or they are just being shot. Another food source gone by the do gooders.
