I doubt China is the price setter in oil. China has no say in the price of imports. The US will not cooperate with other emerging economies for bargaining any price either. They want absolute control on everything. So to think they would raise interest rates to double digits is not something in their interest at all. It is not 1980s, not a Volker era.
